Another thing I do is use the milk to make waffles. I figure my waffle recipe calls for sour milk, anyway - and old milk ought to sour easier, right? Whether that's true or not, we all like waffles around here. Last year, my husband brought me home a waffle iron from his grandpa's house. I already had two, but he figured I could always use a new one.
This one was different - not round like the others, it makes two square waffles. Guess what? Those square waffles make perfect toaster waffles - unlike the normal round waffles. So, periodically, I make a bunch of these waffles and put them into the freezer. They make great breakfasts for the kids, and, since school is starting Tuesday, I'm sure they will really appreciate them.My waffle recipe can be found here.
